School Rules

ACADEMIC

  • A student should carry his/her Heritans’ Almanac to school every day. It must have his/her photograph with complete information duly signed by the parents.
  • Students who come to school on their own should arrive at school before the bell rings.
  • No student is allowed to enter school in a self-driven scooter, motorcycle or car.
  • The school gates will close at 7:45 am.
  • Non-Sikhs should get their hair cut at regular intervals. Sikh boys must wear patkas.
  • Students are expected to respect the school property. No student should damage any school furniture, write or draw on walls or in any way damage things belonging to others. Damage done even by accident should be reported at once to the class teachers or to the Principal. Students are liable to pay for the damage caused.
  • The school is not responsible for goods lost. Students are not allowed to bring valuable articles such as expensive watches, mobiles or fountain pens to school. Name tags for sweaters, blazers, and shoes are required.
  • Students who come to school in the care of a domestic help should never leave before the domestic help arrives. In case of any delay, they should report to the school office. Those who go home alone should be prompt in returning home.
  • The school reserves the right to suspend or to take strict disciplinary action against a student whose diligence is constantly unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students.
  • Once a child has come to the school, he/she should not be asked to come home on half day leave or leave from any period. In case of an emergency, the parents may collect the child from the school personally.
  • Students should get their assessment reports signed by their parents/guardians within three days of the receipt of the assessment reports and return them to the class teachers.
  • Students should not miss any teaching/games/ activity period.
  • No student shall indulge in any of the following practices namely:
    • Disfiguring or otherwise damaging school property
    • Rowdy and rude behaviour
    • Use of violence in any form
    • Casteism, communalism or the practice of untouchability
  • Please note that no request, seeking permission to allow the child to go to a friend’s/relative’s house, shall be entertained.
  • Each student will be issued two parent copies of studentI-cards. It will be mandatory for the parents or any nominee to show the parent copy of the student I- card to the bus guard or school guard in order to collect the child. As per the school rule, the child will be handed over to anyone who shows the parent copy of the student I-card.
  • The loss of an I-card must be reported to the school immediately.
  • If the child is to leave the school campus during school hours, parents should personally obtain a gate pass from the reception. This must be presented to the Class Teacher at the time of leaving the school. No child will be allowed to leave the school premises on telephonic request with domestic help/drivers or with anyone else. This is for the security of your child. All parents are expected to cooperate with us and not go to the class directly.
  • Students suffering from infectious diseases such as conjunctivitis, dermatitis, scabies, etc., should not be sent to school by parents.
  • Students suffering from chronic diseases such as asthma, epilepsy, rheumatic heart disease, etc., are advised to be under the continuous medical supervision of a specialist doctor. The history of their illness must be filled up in the diary (Heritans Almanac).
  • A student returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease should produce a doctor’s certificate of fitness permitting him/her to attend school. He/she must make up all the work missed by him/her.
  • Repeated absence without leave application and unexplained absence for more than six consecutive days renders the student’s admission cancelled.
  • In case of indisposition/injury/mishap, the school shall provide First Aid to the students and parents will be informed. In case of any emergency, students will be referred to the nearest hospital and parents shall bear all expenses thereof.
  • In case you need to meet the principal/teachers, please make sure you make an appointment.
  • Parents, under no circumstances, are allowed to directly enter the classroom during school hours.

WITHDRAWAL RULES

  • One clear calendar months’ notice in writing or a month’s fees in lieu of such a notice must be given before a student can be withdrawn.
  • Caution money is refundable at the time of withdrawal of a student or completion of studies.
  • Transfer Certificates will not be issued until all dues of the school are settled.
  • An application to be given one month in advance if any assessment report is required in case of mid-term withdrawal.
